Q: Are there any software requirements to use the VAST Community Hub?A: Tonel Tools are required to use the VAST Community Hub. Tonel Tools are included into VAST Platform 2021 (10.0.0) and later, but for 9.2.1, 9.2.2 releases, you'll need to download these tools on GitHub at:
github.com/instantiations/tonel-vast/.
Q: Can I use software within the VAST Community Hub for commercial purposes?A: Usually, but always consult the license agreement within each repo for the details of allowed usage just to be sure.
Q: My team wants to get more involved with the VAST Community Hub. Can we?A: Absolutely. We'd like more teams to get involved, so if you're interesting in helping or contributing to the VAST Community Hub, please reach out to vast-community-hub@instantiations.com.
Q: What's the difference between Instantiations' GitHub and the VAST Community Hub?A: We encourage community involvement in both places, but the VAST Community Hub uses a more community-driven approach with limited oversight by Instantiations. In contrast, our engineers give extra attention to the code within Instantiations' GitHub.
Q: Will Instantiations do regular maintenance and development for the projects within the VAST Community Hub?A: The community is taking the lead on projects within the VAST Community Hub; although Instantiations engineers might jump in occassionally to contribute.
