Every year before Instantiations does a major release, we make an internal, pre-release build of the VAST Platform available to our customers. This internal pre-release is called our Early Customer Access Program (ECAP). The purpose of ECAP is to provide our users with the opportunity to test new features and provide feedback to our engineering team prior to the next release.
While we have extensive automated testing, some features require manual evaluation and a more "human touch", and that's where we'd like your help. We encourage ECAP testers to share all their feedback and report any bugs that are encountered, so our engineers can make the upcoming release, in this case VAST 2022 (11.0.0), as fine-tuned and bug-free as possible.
This ECAP pre-release includes these new features:
One of the features not in this ECAP, but still coming to VAST 2022, is our Unicode Support Framework. This framework will provide internationalization with new classes in VAST that give first-class Unicode support and a comprehensive solution for all the world's languages...even emojis.
We'll be talking more about Unicode soon, but meanwhile check out a post in the VAST Community Forum from earlier this year about our approach to Unicode for the VAST Platform.
To get started with ECAP, go to our ECAP page and use one of the download links. Any customer with an active support plan can use their customer credentials to download.
