Using tables for page layout
Web Connection provides the capability to use HTML tables in order to arrange information on a Web page. An HTML table can contain text, images, forms, input fields, or any other HTML elements (except other tables).
The Grid part provides the ability to arrange the parts in a Web Connection part in a table. The term Grid is strictly a VA Smalltalk term meant to distinguish this part from the Table part, which is meant only for presentation of database data. Both parts generate the HTML <table> element.
In order to add a Grid to a Web page, follow these steps:
1. Select Grid from the Web Connection category.
2. Place the part anywhere with a Page or Composite. (A Grid can be within a form, but it does not have to be. Refer to
Setting up a table for more information)
By default, a new Grid appears with two rows and two columns.
